The supplied video clip described Facebook as addictive and stalkerish. Both of these comments I would agree with. The large majority of students with laptops sign in to Facebook during lectures. Facebook is really the strongest implementer of self surveillance which is why it took my peers so long to persuade me to join. It is a great communication device and it means I can keep in contact with all the people I don't see on a week by week basis.
Anyway, I added to the discussions on current reading and best book ever ('Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex' by Mary Roach and 'Bloodtide' by Melvin Burgess respectively). I looked into the Folger Shakespeare Library who post about Shakespeare-related events.
As a final note, here is my favourite quote from Nicola Morgan's 'Sleepwalking';

I like Roach's work. She's both curious and hilarious. The first time I read 'Stiff' I laughed myself silly while absorbing so much about death and cultural customs/practices and beliefs. And as for 'Bonk' - I just think of the title and start guffawing. That was a great read.
