As suggested, I converted a Word document into a pdf. However, being far more familiar with Word, the reverse is preferable. So I converted a pdf into Word with little fuss and now have a document I actually know how to edit. I can imagine the list of conversion options would also be a great help for those unfamiliar with computers. I would find this site helpful when my regular methods of conversion fail.
As a side note, I have included a link to a post about cats in libraries (hint hint!).

Funny cats link! I worked at Auckland College of Education library for 2 years and we had a cat who thought he lived there but actually lived next door. He was a high brow siamese called Merlot who loved to jump on the shelves and scare the daylights out of students. He also liked to sit up there and plaintively yowl and, if students went to rescue him, he'd promptly jump down and snootily stalk off :)
The article reminded me of 'Dewey' the library cat who had a book and a picture book written about him. Dewey and Merlot both sound like cats with a lot of character; the sort of cat that you remember.
