The Last Post: a Summary

Mostly, I've enjoyed this round of web 2.0. TasteSpotter stands out as my favourite task and box.net will definitely be the most helpful in the longer run. Box.net is a site I can see myself using and recommending to customers. I prefer the setup of Bloglines, which I discovered from the previous round of web 2.0, to the email alerts of FeedMyInbox.
Another successful web 2.0 experience. TTFN,

Week Six: EnCompass Culture

This site is fairly straight forward to browse; popping up with options and sub-options. However the constant movement irritates me though I imagine it would make you read things through more rather then clicking blindly on a heading that only half covers what you are searching for. What I am desperately craving in a book/reading orientated website, is one with a very wide library of books (where I struggled and failed to find a number of my lesser known favourites) and recommendations on authors who write in a similar style.
All and all, an interesting (if busy) site.

Week Five: SlideShare

I can see that SlideShare would be great for sharing information. Though manageable, the site wasn't terrifically easy to navigate. Also, I found the site fairly ad-heavy, something which I find particularly frustrating. I can't imagine I would recommend this site to the average computer user.
Here's something to share; in my searches I came upon the rather brilliant term 'supertransformimagicability'.

Week Four: TasteSpotting

I could see myself becoming deliciously addicted to TasteSpotting. In moments I found a recipe for some rather beautiful banana coconut cream bundt cakes with a pineapple glaze: http://willowbirdbaking.wordpress.com/2010/04/27/banana-coconut-cream-cakes/. I would be eager to use this site as meal inspiration, particularly with these impressive desserts.
I'm not bothered by the lack of library-ness, this is a fantastic resource.

Week Three: FeedMyInbox

I still use the Bloglines account I created for Web 2.0 in 2008, admittedly mostly for web comics. I think I prefer Bloglines because it is completely separate from my email account. I worry that FeedMyInbox with overwhelm me with emails especially since I largely subscribe to daily updated sites. I also like Bloglines option to save links. I plan to continue to use Bloglines as it remains my preferred site.
On the plus side, I have now added the 'Scooper on Libraries' blog to my list.

Week Two: Picapp

Picapp is a curious image site however, with little interest in blogging, I'm afraid I cannot appreciate Picapp as a blog image site. I was unenthused by the categories so used the search bar. I searched for 'fireworks' and found this gorgeous photo of Bastille Day fireworks at the Eiffel Tower.
I have been struggling to add this picture to this post as a link and had to fiddle around with everything. I can't imagine a situation where I would need to use this site again.

Week One: Box.net

I found it very easy to sign up to box.net and to create my first folder. I've uploaded a half dozen photo files to store which can be viewed through this link: http://www.box.net/shared/7j2sn2n5ks.
I intend to use this site again to back-up personal files or to share photo files across the ditch.
I imagine I would recommend this site to customers, particularly in situations where email and USB drives are inaccessible.
